Dear Parents, Guardians and Students/Annwyl Rieni, Gwarchodwyr a Myfyrwyr
Congratulations to all of our amazing Sixth Form students on results day!
Medicine at Cardiff and Bangor, Economics at Bristol, Philosophy and Theology at Edinburgh, Business Information Systems at Cardiff Met, Social Work at Swansea, English and French Law at Exeter, and the Fire Service are just some of the exotic courses and destinations that our amazing Year 13 students are headed into.
As always, the photos capture the vibe!

This morning, it was an absolute joy to welcome our Sixth Form students and their families into school to celebrate a range of incredible achievements. Their determination, hard work and resilience have shone through, and today’s outcomes are richly deserved. Every cohort is unique, and the Year 13 Class of 2026 is an exceptionally talented group of young people.
Throughout their time at LHS, they have made a remarkable contribution to our school community. From their outstanding performances in Shrek the Musical, to their enthusiasm for charity fundraising, community events and wider school life, they have demonstrated not only talent and commitment but also a wonderful sense of community spirit. Alongside these achievements, they have impressed us with their dedication to their studies and their willingness to support and inspire others.
Please join us in celebrating and congratulating each individual student. We are extremely proud of their achievements across the full range of AS, A Level and BTEC Level 3 qualifications.
As we often say, success does not look the same for everyone, and it is important to recognise and celebrate the unique aspirations and journeys of all our students.
Today’s results reflect this, and we wish our students every success and happiness in their next steps. Thank you for everything you have given to LHS. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for you.

Outcomes in all pathways are very strong, allowing students access to worthwhile vocations, career entry and university places. Many students have successfully secured places at a range of universities to pursue a wide range of degree courses.
Within the outcomes today, 38% of all grades were achieved at A* – A, 64% of all grades were achieved at A* – B, and 87% of all grades were achieved at A* – C!
There are huge successes across the board that will see our students moving onto a wide range of courses and apprenticeships and we are absolutely delighted for them all. As well as courses that we mentioned above, we have students heading to Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield and York.
He always manages to capture the full range of emotions!

Well done to all of the students that we managed to collar for a photograph this morning, and well done to all of those who escaped our clutches!!
These stories scratch the surface of the varying destinations that Year 13 are headed in. We will miss you dearly and hope that you will keep in touch.
AS….
It was wonderful to see so many of our Year 12 students in school this morning. The transition from GCSEs to post-16 study is a significant one, requiring greater independence, resilience and commitment. Reaching the end of Year 12 is an important milestone, offering an opportunity to reflect on how far you have come, celebrate your successes, and set ambitious goals for the year ahead. We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved so far and look forward to seeing you build on these foundations in your final year at LHS.
I would also like to express my sincere thanks to our teaching staff, support staff and examinations team. Their dedication, expertise and tireless efforts throughout the year have played a vital role in ensuring our students are well prepared to achieve their qualifications and take the next steps in education, training or employment.
A special thank you must also go to parents, carers and families. Your encouragement, patience and unwavering support have been instrumental in helping these young people navigate their educational journey. The achievements we celebrate today are very much a reflection of the partnership between home and school.
No doubt, it has been just as agonising a wait for you. So, here’s to all our wonderful parents, carers and family members…

and the support from friends…!

After a brief opportunity to catch our breath and recharge, our attention now turns to next week, when we look forward to celebrating with our Year 11 and Year 10 students. The countdown is almost over, and we cannot wait to share in your successes too.
