Dear Parents and visitors

It is a great privilege to introduce our school to you.  Llanishen High School is an 11-18 community comprehensive school which prides itself in its inclusivity and core purpose of ensuring that ALL students achieve their full potential.

We aim to secure excellent outcomes in the eyes of Estyn and National Categorisation, but more importantly in examination outcomes for all.  Our curriculum drives our aspiration and we teach the curriculum so that our pupils pass exams. My job as Headteacher is to demand success from pupils and staff with no excuses.

In order to be outstanding, we aim for all pupils to enjoy participating fully in school life and feel a sense of pride in their school and their achievements in the full range of academic, sporting, creative and other achievements that are fully rewarded and celebrated.  Our aim is to ensure that all pupils feel welcomed and part of their school group regardless of faith, race, disability, or sexual orientation.  We want them to feel that they would always choose Llanishen High School.

We want our Parents to feel that the school focuses on academic, cultural and sporting success, manages behaviour appropriately and consistently and delivers high quality provision and outcomes.  It is imperative to us to cultivate strong and positive relationships with home

The staff at LHS have pride in improving standards and behaviour across the school and act to maintain those standards.  The school has made significant improvements in all Welsh Government Key Performance Indicators for three consecutive years.  Teachers demand good quality classwork and homework that pupils take pride in.  We teach so that all pupils are actively engaged and take the lead in their learning.  We strive to ensure that a strong academic ethos permeates our school and that all relationships are built on respect and warmth.

Educating young people is a great responsibility and an immense privilege. We want students from LHS to be able to follow their dreams, because they will have the qualifications, skills and attitudes to open doors and opportunities for them.
If you are considering sending your son or daughter to Llanishen High School and would like to find out more about us, please get in touch.

We welcome the opportunity to show you around.
