Temporary School Closure Due to Extreme Heat Weather Warning
Dear Parents and Carers,
Following the issue of a Red Extreme Weather Warning for heat, the school will be closed for two days on:
– Wednesday 24th June 2026
– Thursday 25th June 2026
The safety and wellbeing of our pupils, staff and wider school community is always our highest priority. In response to the warning, we have carried out a thorough and extensive risk assessment of the school environment, including classroom temperatures, ventilation, and the potential risks associated with prolonged exposure to extreme heat.
Unfortunately, despite all reasonable measures and mitigations, we have determined that it is not safe to keep the school open during this period. The forecast temperatures present a significant risk, particularly to the younger members of our school community.
We appreciate that this decision may cause inconvenience, but we are sure you will understand that it has been made with the best interests of everyone in mind.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates as needed.
The school is expected to reopen on Friday 26th June subject to conditions improving.
In the meantime, we encourage you to stay cool, hydrated and safe during the hot weather.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Sarah Parry
