Year 8 Great RSPCA Debate

Mrs. Weston had the pleasure of taking seven of our dedicated Year 8 pupils to the RSPCA Great Debate.

The event took place in the Council Chambers at City Hall, Cardiff and it was an amazing day.

After taking part in a quiz about animal welfare and learning about #GenerationKind, the seven schools involved took it in turns to debate on an important animal welfare issue under a strict 10-minute timer.

Llanishen High debated second and discussed 'Animals in Housing', where they explored reasons why landlords should allow all tenants the right to a pet which was then countered by the opposition's opinion that landlords should be able to choose who lives in their property.

The girls represented LHS excellently and were truly impressive!

Although the well-deserved winners were the Cathedral School, Llandaff, we learned a lot and it was a fantastic experience.
