James Story - Queens and Wimbledon

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am delighted to finish the school year by sharing some photographs from recent events for James Story, outgoing Year 13.

James has been away for four weeks, working on his grass court season.  During that time he was selected to play for GB U18s  in the Paul Hutchins Trophy against USA at Queens.   Whilst GB lost 5-6 to USA overall, James did manage to win 3 out of his 4 matches.  James and family were then treated to go onto centre court to watch the semi-final of Andy Murray men's doubles match which was followed by an awards ceremony.   James was then allocated a Wild Card into both the boys singles and doubles events at Wimbledon.   James and family had a fantastic 5 days there, with James getting to the last 32 of the singles, beating the No.2 seed along the way.   A major highlight of the time there was also being selected to hit with Andy Murray - which you may have seen in the local news!

James now has Senior County Week - Premier Division in Bournemouth, followed by a Men's £25K event in Roehampton.  Then he will be flying out to Memphis mid-August to start his University life!
It has been our pleasure to have James with us at LHS for 7 years.  We look forward to updates on his life at University in Memphis and his Professional tennis career.
Maybe this will inspire some of our young people to turn their hand to a game of tennis this summer!
Wishing you all a very relaxing summer break.
Mrs Sarah Parry
