Dear Parents/Guardians,

Please join me in congratulating Emma Jones of Year 8 for her recent hockey success!

Trials were held for the first time on 14th May for a South Wales Under 13 girls side. They will play in a tournament in Manchester in early July against English regional sides. Some 35 girls were nominated for the trial. They spanned the length and breadth of Wales and came from Fishguard to Gwent and from Barry to Brecon. And they included our very own Emma Jones from year 8.

The quality of the field was extremely high, so we are delighted to say that Emma has been selected for the final squad of 18.

This adds to Emma's achievement coming only one week after her club team (Whitchurch HC) won the Welsh cup with her playing a significant role in that achievement.

Our school has a very talented young hockey player in Emma Jones.

Kind regards
