British Ski championships

We would like to congratulate Georgia Hyett, Jenny Ludtke and Ella Thomas who competed at the British Schools Skiing Championships in Pontypool on Sunday 19th November. The girls did LHS proud in terms of their performance, teamwork and conduct throughout the day. The course was very challenging and we needed all girls to complete both their slalom runs without missing a gate, having a serious fall and thus avoiding being disqualified. All three girls coped with the pressures they had to face throughout the competition, held their nerves and did a grand job. A very proud moment for me to see them in action and to watch them supporting each other throughout the day. Their support and combined performance meant that Gerogia Hyett was able to achieve British Schools Skiing Champion with the quickest times achieved on both her runs giving her the fastest combined time (truly outstanding performance) and due to her teammates finishing their runs with no disqualifcation, she was able to bring the trophy and title home to LHS, a first for us as a school!!

Well done!!
