Extra Curricular Home Learning Resources
The following resources have been found to assist you in home learning during these challenging times. Not all of these resources have been vetted by LHS staff; however, have been recommended by numerous other educational bodies and establishments. Most offer free, enhanced access during school closures to help you keep learning and are suitable not just for students, but also parents and even staff (especially the MOOC resources)!

BooleanGirl (Full STEM Ahead) - Learn to Code, Build, Invent, and Animate. Each episode is age-appropriately tailored for ages 8 to 18
UnityLearn Premium - Learn to create 2D/3D games along with VR and AR applications for a massive range of platforms
PluralSight - Build in-demand tech skills without leaving your house. Get free access to 7,000+ expert-led video courses and more for all of April.
English
Teachit English - Thousands of great, free English resources to download and use until the end of April.
British Sign Language - Offering a 20 hour CPD course to learn British Sign Language *not free, but pay what you can.
Mr Bruff - Offers free video based English lessons for you to learn at your own pace.

MindSpark - Adaptive online tutoring system that helps students practice and learn mathematics.
Science
MEL Academy - Free (for three months) science experiments that can be carried out with kitchen ingredients and webinars
Positive Physics - Online physics demonstrations
Phet - Online Science and Maths demonstrations and simulations from the University of Colorado
Modern Foreign Languages
Rosetta Stone - 3 months free membership - Learn to speak one of 23+ languages
Duolingo - A free app to help you learn a new language
Whole Curriculum
BBC Bitesize - Often used in classrooms across the world. An amazing set of resources covering almost every corner of the curriculum.
Scholastic - Offering a wide range of day-to-day projects to keep kids reading, thining and growing.
Seneca - Used by over 3 million people, Seneca offer free distance learning & homework resources
Twinkl - Offering school closure packs, advice and interactive resources to keep pupils busy, entertained and educated.
Khan Academy - Free online lessons and practice in math, sciences and humanities, as well as free tools for parents and teachers to track student progress.
GCSE Podcasts - Podcasts on a wide variety of GCSE subjects
Eton College - Several online self-study courses from the EtonX Future Skills Programme, particularly appropriate for Year 11 and Year 13 pupils and offer training in skills important to life and to the workplace
Cultural Virtual Days-Out
The British Museum - Are offering free virtual tours of its numerous online exhibits
The Natural History Museum - Are also offering free virtual tours through its extensive collection
Tate Modern - Follow Nick Grimshaw and Frances Morris on a whistlestop 360 degree tour around Tate Modern's Blavatnik Building
The National Gallery - has likewise created virtual tours of its exhibitions
Wind in the Willows - has placed their stage production online for you to enjoy at no cost.
Sistine Chapel - The Vatican has opened up the Sistine Chapel so you can take a virtual tour.
National Theatre at Home - Enjoy world class theatre whilst the theatres are closed. Free performance EVERY Thursday night @ 7pm!
The Show Must Go On! - A new YouTube channel created by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, showing a West-End spectacular Fridays at 7pm (GMT) and available for 48 hours.
London Virtual Tours - Take a 360 degree virtual tour around some of Londons most famous landmarks and sights.
American Research Centre in Egypt - Take a tour and experience past ARCE conservation projects from anywhere in the world
Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Platforms - Usually higher level courses
Coursera - Online courses taught by instructors from well-recognized universities and companies.
Edx.org - Online courses from leading educational institutions.
FutureLearn - Online courses to help learners study, build professional skills and connect with experts
OpenLearn by Open Univeristy - Over 1,000 free courses offered by the famous Open University. Use them to increase your confidence and develop the skills needed to enter Higher Education and succeed with learning. A great resource for sixth form students, parents and staff alike.
