Dear Parent/Guardian,

Apologies for interrupting your weekend in these most unusual of times.

The local authority is fulfilling its obligation to provide free school meals to qualifying pupils.

If your child/ward is in receipt of Free school meals and doesn't travel to school by bus they can come in from 12.00 until 2.00 tomorrow to collect their grab bag. In the interests of social distancing and government directives can I request that students travel alone or with siblings but do not meet in groups to come into school. Please could you try to follow the criteria below if possible, to ensure that we don't get a few hundred pupils at the same time which will be logistically difficult to manage social distancing.

  • Surname: A-F 12.00-12.20
  • Surname: G-L 12.20-12.40
  • Surname: M-R 12.40-1.00
  • Surname: S-Z   1.00-1.20

The local authority is providing "grab bags" consisting of a cheese sandwich, crisps, water, fruit/raisins/veg bag.

There will be no alternative and specific dietary requirements will not be catered for on Monday.

Allergen information will be printed on the items/grab bag that is delivered.

We will have only the Senior Leadership Team and a few other staff only on-site tomorrow.

We will also be supervising children where both parents are designated key workers and they have no other means of childcare and it is crucial that these children do not come into contact with other pupils to restrict the chance of key worker children taking the virus home.  Clearly, we will do everything in our power to ensure that we follow Government guidelines on social distancing.

Finally, can I ask that all our families follow the Government advice. No social gatherings of pupils or parents until advised otherwise.

Thanks for your co-operation.

Mr Brennan

Deputy Headteacher
