Regional Auditions - October 2009
Eligible entrants will be invited to perform at the Regional Auditions which will take place at 7 venues around the UK.
Competitors will perform in front of a judging panel and be required to present a programme of no longer than 10 minutes duration. These will be closed auditions.

Category Auditions - December 2009
Successful competitors invited to the Category Auditions will perform in front of a judging panel and be required to present a programme of no longer than 15 minutes duration. These will be closed auditions. Venue to be advised.

Category Finals - 7-11 February 2010
BBC Hoddinott Hall, Cardiff
5 competitors per category, selected from the Category Auditions, will perform a programme of no longer than 20 minutes duration in front of a judging panel and audience. Category winners will progress to the competition Semi-Final.

Semi-Final - 12 February 2010
BBC Hoddinott Hall, Cardiff
The 5 category winners will repeat their 20 minute Category Final programme in front of a judging panel and audience competing for three places in the BBC Young Musician 2010 Final.

Final - 16 May 2010
Donald Gordon Theatre, Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff
The 3 Finalists will perform a concerto (or work for solo instrument and orchestra) of maximum 30 minutes duration with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales for the title BBC Young Musician 2010.

Explanatory Notes
